Production Responsibilities

  • Manage technical activities at and communications with our contract manufacturers.
  • Define reports necessary to track contract manufacturer process yields, identify areas for improvement, drive improvement implementation and minimize production costs.
  • Review, communicate and implement engineering changes at contract manufacturer.
  • Monitor and report on product repair activities, in-house and at contract manufacturer, to identify design, process and supplier weaknesses.
  • Work with Engineering and contract manufacturer to implement corrective actions to improve product reliability.
  • Establish quality standards and control plans with contract manufacturer. Perform periodic supplier audits.
  • Provide day-to-day support to contract manufacturer technical staff.

New Product Development Responsibilities

  • Be an active participant in new product design, providing input as the subject matter expert in the areas of manufacturability and testability ensuring products are designed to minimize production costs.
  • Work with Engineering and suppliers to develop and implement test fixtures and software.
  • Drive the development and implementation of manufacturing documentation (interconnect wiring diagrams/schematics, theory of operations, test procedures, troubleshooting guides, etc.).
  • Train manufacturing personnel on test process, test equipment and test software.

  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards for electronic products
  • Verbal and written proficiency in Spanish desirable

Education/Training

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree desirable

Experience

  • 7+ years of technical leadership in a production/manufacturing environment, with 5+ years of those involving complex electronics system production.
  • Experience with electronic manufacturing process analysis and optimization.
  • Experience with product failure root cause analysis and corrective action implementation, including test, process and design changes.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers, managing teams external to the company.
  • Experience in rapid growth, entrepreneurial environment a plus.

Travel

Travel to contract manufacturing locations in Mexico required on a quarterly basis.
